99 ex intermittent no start no crank... Please help
 

Hello fellow azht ers,
It's been a few years since I have been on here but I knew where to go when this problem arose that I can't pinpoint to save my life.

So it's a 99 ex 4 door auto with 120k on the motor and 180k on the body. Sometimes the car will start right up with no issue but other times it will just "click" only once then il have to turn the key back and retry. Sometimes it's just a couple times then others it's a dozen or more tries to start it before it does crank over and start. When she runs it's just fine.

I've replaced the starter, distributor, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, ignition switch and tumbler, and lastly the main relay. Checked all of the term connections on the batt. They are nice and tight and clean, even the body ground is tight and clean.

With all of those new parts I still sometimes just get a click.

I have now drawn a blank on what next could be causing this issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my wife drives this car and I don't want her to actually get stranded one day.

Here is what I would do.

Try a new ground wire trans to body. I have seen this ground cause these issues numerous times. Double check your vltage wit dmm if you have one.

Is it standard or automatic?

Have you gotten your battery tested? I had this issue (although on a 95 manual Integra) and i went through everything down to the steering column. Found out the cca in the battery weren't enough power to fully bump the starter.
