Opinions on coils for s2k

yeah yeah im sure there are plenty of these but im too lazy too search through.

with that being said I've never owned anything but some ek's and a buddy of mine is shopping around for some coilovers for his ap1, I was just seeing what azht's personal opinion/experience with some of the coils you have used on your s2ks

its for megan's dads s2k, so it doesnt have to go too low at all but the lowering springs aren't cuttin it for him i think he wants something that rides a lot smoother

all the ones i listed should be fairly smooth still
kw v1s ride good but arent dampening adjustable and dont go that low

I think the Swift Spec R springs for the S2k off a really nice drop, and ride very nice. If I keep mine I will go with these.

My friend runs Ksport control pro's on his AP1 and swears by them. Very comfortable ride.

I have K sports on my S and I really like them. My car is fairly low and it rides nicely.

I just have some SKUNK2 Lowering Springs on mine, and it rides preety smooth. It gives about a 2" drop. But later on i will change the whole suspension. Lol

If you don't have much experience with the car, you will not know a smooth suspension untill you ride in many that have different setups. He'll likely just think it should be that way.


do NOT tell him to go with lowering springs with OEM shocks and uncut bumptops if he wants a smooth ride.


Properly setup KW V3s with shortened bump stops will be really smooth. Same with PSS9.

I have KW clubsports which are basically V3s with top hats, stiffer springs and stiffer valving. They ride pretty darn smooth with 570# springs front and rear. I now have 750f/650r springs though. a bit more stiff but the shocks handle them well and it's not bouncy at all. It's daily drivable IMO but I'm used to a stiff suspension
