maybe the alternator is bad. i bought a reman'd one from pepboys and it took a shit the day after i installed it. I returned it for a full refund and picked one up from checkers and haven't had a problem. sometimes its hit and miss with the remanufactured ones.

Been fooled before when I assumed my wires / connections "looked" good. In fact I had a bad ground. May sound crazy but make sure "new" alternator is actually creating charge also. Look in chiltons or haynes for testing procedure. (have bought a new but bad part) Then actually check continuity of affected wiring.

try connecting jumper cables from the alternator to the battery and grounds on the car see if that charges your battery. If it does then I would look for white powdery stuff on the main cables. Either way that should prove to yourself that it's a cable problem and that you would need to replace them.

my homie had the same problem, we thought it was something grabbing power while the car was off. he took the alt off, i had 2 used ones, hooked him up with one. Before he installed it, we took all 3 alts to autozone, his was bad and my other 2 were good. Bottom line just take off that alt and get it tested at your fav autoparts store and find a good one. ALWAYS TEST your batt, starter, or alt before you install it weather they are new, remanufactured, or used

I agree with people here get your alternator tested at autozone or checker and while your there get yourself a test light. IF you alternator comes out fine. Take a testlight disconnect you negative battery cable. With the car off ground the test light and touch your negative terminal on your battery if it lights up, you have something drawing power.. then you tap each fuse with the test light to find which one is getting power while the car is off
