how much paint to buy??

im painting my crx and am wondering how much base, primer and clear i should buy?

last time i tired i had to buy the base twice paint in the middle and it didnt match perfect so i would like to get enough this time so i dont have the same mistake lol

im doing the entire exterior, doors jams, chassis door jams, trunk jam, spare tire area in rear of car, engine bay and back side of hood.

Any suggestions from somebody who has had experience? thanks

i would get a gallon of each.. paint, reducer and clear with the hardener.. you can reduce the paint and make more paint.

half a gallon of Base is all you really need... most base paints are a 1:1 ratio, so half gallon of base will make 1 gallon and for a small CRX that is all you need..

Just buy a gallon of clear because a lot of time it is either a 4:1 ratio so all you need is a gallon of clear and a quart of hardner.

Just buy a gallon on each that way in the near future if you ever have to touch up or respray something you'll have the same color match. Don't forget to spray sealer that way your paint will lay down more evenly.

AZ_CIVIC is right. Though, if it's your first time, buy extra. You may end up using more to fix your mistakes. Also like the last guy said, you never know when you may get a chip or a scratch you want to fix later on.
