vtec killer question

So I have been doing a lot of research and even contacted speedfactory with no 100 percent answer. My question is, if you are using vtec killer cams, and the solenoid block off plate, would you still need to run the oil line to the back of the head on an lsvtec/b20 vtec situation? Does anyone have any type of oil flow diagram of the b series vtec head? Or does anyone have a junk b series vtec head that I can use to figure out what exactly that orfice feeds besides the vtec solenoid? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So share the wealth, so we can all learn something new. Seriously, I'd like to know.

seeing how the line is just supplying the oil to the solenoid then the solenoid is sending oil to the rockers just for locking high cam... no you dont need it.

According to Toda and endyne you do still need it. Toda even recommends adding the line to the vtec blocks. They say you should see reduced valve train wear with the added line. Endyne recommends adding the line to vtec blocks even if you are still using regular vtec cams and aftermarket valve train.

call speedfactory and tell them they are doing it wrong... they use that port to monitor oil pressure to the head

That's a gsr block. I already talked to speed factory. And asked him the same exact question. His response was he didn't know if I needed to or not as all the vtec killer setups they have done have been with gsr blocks. And they are using sk2 pro 1 cams with their vtec eliminator pins.

Never said it was necessary on the vtec blocks. Just that Toda and endyne both recommend it.

I would think more oil on the cam lobes can't hurt on these flat tappet motors. As long as adequate oil pressure is maintained.
