because the 4G63 in the 1st and 2nd gen's were about the most unreliable pieces of crap out there. Yes they can handle alot of boost but they constantly need work. Something is always going wrong on them, haha Always. Trust me ive worked on way way too many of them to ever want one.

everyone knows shep is basicly dsm GOD haha.

But even he has to constantly work on his cars or have them worked on, haha thats what happens when you have 1000+hp from a 4cyl. haha

But its true you know that. Ive seen nothing but problems with them especially when someone that doesnt know how to work on them does and then you see the catastrophy that happens from that. Dont do the auto tensioner right and see what happens. hahaha. Not pretty.

yeah very true, Wiring falls apart after time and you get mad electrical problems, ECU's that short out without notice usually because the way the stupid idle air control is fed straight from the ecu not a separate fused power supply. So guess what, IAC shorts which is very very common on all old mitsus and bye bye ecu. Throw another in not knowing, and bam, another ecu gone, haha

I had this happen to a freind of mine on his early 90's mitsu.

Just a lot of crappy stuff from the factory in those cars. Now when modded properly and the proper stuff changed out they can be decent cars but they will still always give you small finiky things here and there that just making owning them suck. haha

My old best friends sister owned a 90 eclipse auto, not even 6 months after buying it the motor went, used motor installed, two months later the trans went, new rebuilt trans in, 2 months later the car burned to the ground after catching fire. hahaha That was a money pit at its best.

Ok you guys are all talking about the actual cars that these motors came in that have problems with many miles on them. This one it looks like it has been rebuilt and the wiring and stuff has been changed so i don't see how it would be a ticking time bomb. Besides it's in a honda now...

well ya the first gen 4g's had there problems with crank walk and what not but all you have to do is get a 6 bolt main bolck instead of a 7...problem solved...no more engine issues. and you can throw gobbs of boost at that baby..
