good spray adhesive (dont cheap out on this item)
fabric of choice
remove headliner
slowly work your way across with a credit card or similar item to smooth the fabric
i do this in sections at a time
i like to leave a little overhang and fold it over and glue to top for more support.
re install.

very easy just take your time

ill post a picture of mine in suede later when im at home

I did the headliner in my old civic in an automotive type suede. It looked awesome. Didn't take to long to do. The only problem is doing the visors, if you know someone who can sew it would look great. I think I still have enough material left to do another one. I have light grey color. I am not sure if I still have pics of it though, I'll look. Over all it was pretty easy and realtively cheap to do. Just a little time.

What is a good glue to use? I used some Loctite spray adhesive and my headliner fell down in the back

this is what i used and the heat made the glue soft

http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=18119&source=googleps&cookietest=1

so i need to know what is better

i just did mine with black suede, it was tiny robots before... i'm doing the sun visors now, trace them inside out, pin them, sew them, then leave one side open, hand stich that one and voila, you have sun visors... pretty simple if you know how to sew.

Its really easy. I used 3m 90 spray. but let it cure a day or two to hold good or keep it in the shade. my friend didnt do that and his is sagging bad.

x2 i used 2 cans, but that was for my xj, but they're about $10/can
Just go to joans fabric store

the fabric is pretty cheap, but overall it's pretty simple. just make sure you let the adhesive dry once you get the fabric on or else it won't hold obviously. i think i let mine set for about 3 hours or so (just cuz i was tight on time) in the garage. it was about 6 months ago and i have yet to see it sag. gl hope this helps

its a huge Areosol spray can, kinda resembles grandma's hairspray can she would use back in the 50's.

lol its great stuff, used it to glue some tweed on my panels for my camaro.
the dogs got a hold of one of my wrapped parts., its all chewed to hell.

BUT! the tweed is still glued on!

So 3M Fabric Adhesive is Rottweiller Approved!

is the 3m spray like a spray paint can or is it something you gotta use a gun for?

Sprmario

i have to redo mine, make sure what ever fabric you get that it isnt too heavy or it will sag. other than that it just takes a lil time and patience. hardest part is taking if off your car.

Wanting to do this with my galant, The headliner in this car is already fabric, do I just lay new fabric on top? The fabric on there is really thin.

Heres a link of what the headliner is like.

It depends on the car. Width isn't an issue, make sure you get 1.5 to 2 yards. My integra is 1 but it's really small.

Its best to have 2 people doing it and attention to detail is really key

i like the loctite spray. bleeds the least of most others. m3 90 or 91 is super strong but also bleeds through a lot. if you go with a fairly thick material like plether then its the shiz. ive done about 5 headliners so far. only hard part is if you want to do your sun roof (obviously you need this for it to matter)
