once you get those finished does anyone know how you would power them? would you run the power line straight from your battery and ground the other wire to some metal...?

That really turned out well

I bet it did huh........... ^^^^^^^^ LOL

Depends but you need to wire in a resistor to the LED's ( Light Emitting Diodes ) or they will blow very quick if not instantly. It also depends on what LED's you use as they have a set Forward Voltage and set amperage.

Use the link I am providing to get a basis to wire in those led's. Remember you can set them at 12 volts but take into consideration that your alternator is giving of a bit more than that. Set your number correctly.

You need the specs from the LED's to fill that calculator in so you can get the required resistor. You can buy several LED's of a certain color if you like on ebay and make sure they have the specs of the LED's posted or given to you in your package. Sometimes they will give you resistors to wire them for 12 volts for free. The norm usually they will give you is 470 ohms resistors but remember they can vary by the specs of the led.

Have fun! This video and tutorials have been out for years already. If you really want to get into it you can make some tail lights as I have done. A bit more than just wiring resistors but you get the point. I remember trying to do the same as someone on a forum but opted due to time and ease to just go stock. I left the turn signal bulbs in place behind the array of LED's so I don't get the fast flash that many get because of the lower amperage thats drawn by the LED's which trips the blinker circuit and tells you that you have a bulb out.

As far as wiring them, you choose how you want to do it. Switch, Parking lights, turn signals, etc. Its your choice.

Also don't stop there man. You can make say Honda Signs, and H symbol, A symbol, etc. As long as you can bend it how you want it the sky is the limit. The light will flow as far as it can. You can also try getting brights LED's as well.

i know i am bumping a old thread, but that actually was really cool. i wish he continued to the point of actual connection to the headlights

This works much better, Been doing this for years to my motorcycles, and cars that use projectors. And is already the size you need. And only $6-10. from computer stores.
