around the edge of the sunroof hole in the headliner is there a rubber weatherstrip type of thing that goes around the edge?

that stays in the car to take it out you have to take out the sun roof... really not that hard but it takes 2 people... im gunna take some pix right now so you can see what i mean

that part doesnt look too hard, on this picture i drew its the whole headliner that covers the rest of the roof, is the part i have in read like a rubber trim that just comes off?

no the rubber trim peice stays on the sunroof itself

azjared
11-30-2009, 11:55 PM
lol not that one, what i was asking for was because when me and nathanaz did his tegs headliner that rubber trim helps alot to hold the edge around the sunroof hole in the bigger headliner piece in place

but i found a good diy for an ek with sunroof. its not hard just a little time consuming to do it good

http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2338395

the thing im talking about is that gray rubber in this picture

joannes has lots and lots of fabric. i recently redid my eks whole head liner, its a pain in the ass but take your time and itll come out ok. i bought 5 yards and only used MAYBE 3 total and i wrapped my visors (hardest part) and arm rests too. buy a little extra so you have lots of extra to wrap around, and to leave room for mistakes

when your spraying the glue dont be afraid to use a good amount but let the glue itself sit for about 30 secs to a minute to keep it from bleeding through.

if you do your visors be careful with the mirrors becuase the plastic around them breaks really easily.

and if you do your armrests youll see that theyre held on by melted plastic tabs, use a dremel and grind down only the edges so you have something to for the glue to stick to when you put it back on. i didnt and had to use a whole tube of epoxy for it to half ass stay on lol.

good luck

Looks really good. Did you use the spray adhesive for it? Thats what I plan on using. Dont know what fabric yet but I plan on using black. I want it dark inside my Teg.

Do yourselves a favor and go for the 3m super 90 spray adhesive. It is probably the most expensive one there is but it is for a reason and don't forget you live in arizona and the heat.
