my friend is trying to sell me a set of drilled and slotted drum brakes for my 1985 crx with a carburated d15 but he want 320 bucks for them so i figured since i just got my new ryobi 18v drill i thought i might be able to pop some holes in mine myself and save me some cash does anyone know how to do this?

Don't do that. You will more then likely throw the rotors off balance and cause more problems then it is worth. Save the hassle and buy some.

Just because I discourage it doesn't mean its not amusing for someone to attempt something completely idiotic and fail lol. I wouldn't be surprised if he does attempt it..... as I know you wouldn't. ;) its always nice to poke at people when they fail :bananalama:

I've never heard on drilled and slotted "drum" brakes, but drilled and slotted "rotors" I have... ;)

The rotors are just going to crack on him after driving on the freeway, and may be crash into the wall but hey what's the worst that can happen? You can't just drill random holes into a rotor, and OEM ones do the job perfectly unless your running like 300+ hp then maybe you could upgrade to slotted or drilled just my .02:smackself:
