i bought my GF a violin and when she tries to put the bridge on it, it breaks when she tightens the strings. does anyone know how to do this without breaking them? or does anyone recommend a certain kind of bridge to use because the ones ive bought for her violin keep breaking?

its very tricky just make sure the bridge isnt unlevel that would make it slip and crack

id say about the same as what Mannyak or take it to s Music Store and have them do it for you. I played the violin for 5 years then paused for a few years and picked it up again for one more year, havnt played it in a loooong time.

well she hadnt played in a long time.i guess she forgot how to put on a bridge. she did this like 5 times, same result. ill take the violin down to a shop n have them do it and teach her how to properly do it.

main just west of center

basically go up country club to main and make a right, east, and it's right before center on your left

i'm pretty sure you'll have to turn at mcdonald or center though because i don't think you can make a left into the parking lot. last i was there was about 7 years ago, i think you need to go around to the back.

yeah i thought you were on the east side. they're pretty good about shit too, shouldn't charge too much. they rent the stuff to the schools so they're used to doing it.

if my great-uncle wasn't so old i'd tell you to hit him up, he's in his 80's but he's been a violin luthier for about 50+ years now. he's in the west valley though.
