Anyone mess with an MPC or MPD?

I'm thinking about getting either an MPC 1000 or 2500. That and a synth keyboard. I want to start making some hip hop beats.

i got a 2500. great for beginning but it takes a little to understand. at first you wont want to make beats cuz youll think its too difficult. But once you get used to it youll love it! im selling beats to kids at me school like $20 a pop.
